Will the AI sound weird to my customers?

Honestly — most customers don't realize they're not talking to a human until you tell them. Voltic uses natural-sounding voices, handles interruptions, asks follow-up questions, and speaks your business's brand and vocabulary. We'll play you real call recordings on the demo so you can judge for yourself.

Can it tell the difference between an emergency and a routine call?

Yes. We train it on your specific definition of emergency — "no heat", "no cool", "leak", "gas smell", "sparks", etc. — and on the rules for what to do with each one. Routine calls get booked into your normal schedule; urgent calls get a live transfer or instant text/page to the on-call tech, exactly the way you'd want a top dispatcher to handle it.

What happens if it doesn't know the answer?

The AI is built to never bluff. If a question is outside the rules we've set, it captures the question, takes a callback number, sets a clear expectation ("a tech will call you back within 30 minutes"), and pings your team — so the customer never gets a wrong answer or a runaround.

How fast can we go live?

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. You keep your existing number. We can be set up as the primary answer (every call), or only as overflow / after-hours backup — your choice. No porting, no downtime, no risk.

Who owns the AI agent and the website? What happens if we part ways?

You own everything. The AI agent lives in your Vapi account. The phone number lives in your Twilio account. The website lives on your hosting account, on your domain. The source code is yours to keep. If you cancel a tuning retainer, the agent keeps running exactly as it was — we just stop improving it. No lock-in, ever.

What does the underlying infrastructure actually cost?

Vapi (the AI voice platform) charges roughly $0.05–0.10 per minute of call time. Twilio adds about $0.01/min for the phone leg, plus a few dollars a month for the number itself. Not right now — and that's deliberate. The same tech would technically work, but the depth we can deliver on residential HVAC dispatch (emergency triage rules, equipment-aware intake, refrigerant-leak escalation, busy-season surge handling) takes focus. We'd rather be the best in the world at one thing than average at five.
